The refrigerator. The water pump. The lights after sunset. Solar gets personal when it powers your home. It powers mine, too.
SOLAR IS PART OF MY EVERYDAY LIFE
I’m Doug Mycko, owner of SolarMan Consulting, LLC. I help people on the Big Island and throughout Hawaiʻi plan off-grid solar systems, choose equipment and work through problems with the systems they already have.
I live off-grid in Hawaiian Acres. Battery storage, cloudy weather and generator backup are part of my own life. I understand why you want to know whether your system will carry you through the night—and what happens when tomorrow brings more rain.
That’s where our conversation starts: your home, your equipment and what you need to power. A water pump, air conditioning or another refrigerator can change the plan. I want those details on the table before we choose the hardware.
